We are excited to introduce the work of Hans van Weeren, a successful painter
from the Netherlands, residing and working in France during the summer. We are exclusively showing work from his "Alaska
Series", painted during and after a three month stay in this magnificent U.S.A. state.
Biography Hans van Weeren (Amsterdam, 1950), studied
from 1976 till 1981 at the School of Arts d'Witte Leli (the White Lilly) in Amsterdam. While his heart always belonged
to painting, he decided to graduate on silk screen printing. Since 1976 he has had many exhibitions of his abstract/realistic works. As
a part-time teacher he taught from 1982 till 1986. Since 1991 he has resided in Nieuwkoop, the Netherlands, where he is busy
as a full-time visual artist. Since 1999 he lives and works in France in Le Rialet during the summertime and in Holland, Nieuwkoop
in wintertime. He has travelled and worked throughout Europe, North America and most recently by invitation in China. Critics
say that his abstract work shows a rich color and many free forms, while at the same time reality is never lost.
